I love life. Makes me sad that there are so many wonderful endangered animals due to climate change. Damn shame to say goodbye.

If you are sure there is no God, please read the last book of the bible. Then, explain how something written over 2000 years ago is clearly described in detail, the events that are taking place on our planet right now. If you have never read it, you are making an uninformed decision about your spiritual/non-spiritual life. I’m sorry, I can’t follow your recommendation to read the last book in the Bible. If your God wants me, they’ll have to find another way. There have been numerous opportunities already.

I was brought up Catholic, also with Aboriginal spirituality and Buddhism. My mum is very open to anything, spiritually and tried her darnedest to include me.

Science is the only thing I believe in. Evidence and research. Facts. Science guides my morality caring about the well-being of life and other people.

Anti-Islam Film

So, I’m an atheist. I don’t believe in any God/s or spirits. And I don’t claim to know Islam, but I am confident I know people and film. That is my only qualification to write a little about this.
Today I learned that an anti-Islamic film had upset a great many Muslim people so much that they publicly protested, violently and peacefully, all over the world, including in Australia, Sydney.
I have not talked to any people involved in the protests, so I can only guess why they protested. To publicly express an absolute opposition to the anti-Islamic film and anti-Islamic sentiment, and I have a great respect for everyone’s right to peaceful protest. Violent protest is worthy of some condemnation.
As far as I’m aware, the film was a very small project, not endorsed by any government or film production company and only allowed distribution over the web. So it is not likely to be coming to a cinema near you. No one is paying to see it. No one is making money out of it. I have only watched the trailer for the movie on YouTube, where it had more than three times as many ‘dislikes’ than ‘likes’. Based on what I could gather from the trailer, it’s not worth my time. I’m not ever going to watch it unless someone forces me beyond my will because it really does not look like the kind on thing that is worthy of more than a minute of my time.
Naive non-Muslim Yasmin was confused about the protests. It really seemed senseless to me. I didn’t understand that it wasn’t just the film, that it may actually be about resentment towards the U.S. and the West.
I would resent ongoing discrimination based on my Atheism, and I can see that Muslim people are often seem discriminated against, even in my community. I’m only really beginning to understand this part of the story.

I’ve just watched an SBS documentary on viruses and swine flu, so I’m pretty much an expert now.
The crazy evolutionary elitist in me is getting ideas about flus and healthy evolution. I’m not really an expert, I’m sure it’s hilarious how wrong I may be about some things.
I’m not planning to reproduce, but if I was gonna, y’know, I would wanna pass on some good genes. Maybe mutated, if it would make my descendants live better lives. But I’ve got a pretty good life. I’m satisfied with my genes, so maybe I won’t worry about it so much. Especially considering, I am not reproducing at present.
Evolution and survival is very interesting to me. I’m confident that’s healthy.
